Daily Habits for a Positive Life

Daily Habits for a Positive Life

Positivity is contagious! Well, that's what I think, and I also believe creating daily positive habits sets you up for success. At the time of writing, we are still in the middle of the Covid chaos, and many people are finding life challenging right now. Yes, it is hard to stay positive when faced with so much doom and gloom (if you believe the mainstream media, that is)! Personally, I switch off to it all.

Moving along, here are 8 daily habits for a positive life that you can implement right away.

Daily Habits for a Positive Life

Wake up early

Waking up early might make some of you run a mile! Personally, the earlier I wake up, the happier I am for several reasons as follows:

  • I get to witness the sunrise

  • I fit more into my day

  • I usually get 10K steps done before 7.00 a.m.

  • I love listening to the birds

  • It gives me more time to achieve great things in the day

Exercise

Love it or hate it, exercise releases endorphins are the happy hormone. Apart from that exercise is good for your health, weight and humans are supposed to move! You can hire a personal trainer or online fitness coach (I know they are my kids, but I have to give them a plug, what mother wouldn't?). And, yes, I built the website. I might as well pat myself on the back for that too! Do you know why? Because it is all positive stuff!

Without a doubt, being fit makes you feel good! If you can't afford a PT or online fitness coach, here are some tips that you can implement into your daily routine:

  • Take the stairs, not the lift

  • Park the car at least one kilometre from where you need to be

  • Walk 10K steps a day

  • Get some fitness bands and use them at your desk for a break

  • If you have a desk job get up every hour and move a bit

  • My best tip; allow one hour a day to exercise somehow! Go back to the point above by waking up early to fit this in if needed

Declutter

Clutter is annoying and distracting! Well, it is for me. Who wants to live amongst the chaos? If you are overwhelmed with clutter, here's what you do:

Commit to decluttering something every day i.e.a, kitchen drawer, bathroom cabinet, or sock drawer!

  • Do you really need all this stuff? How long ago did you wear that suit? If it was over a year, maybe it is time to have a wardrobe sort out

  • Rome wasn't built in a day, and if you declutter something every day, you will start to be more organised, tidy and feel better

Learn something new

Learning something new is easier than you think. You can listen to a podcast, learn a new language, read inspiring stories or take a dancing tutorial on Youtube! There is no excuse to not learn new skills in this day and age.

I left school just after my 16th birthday in New Zealand. I did not even achieve my School Certificate, so I left school without a leaving certificate. I am 6o years of age, and I am the editor of numerous blogs and a Wix Website Partner. My income comes from my blogging and website design business. I have been a tutor at Sydney Community College on social media and web design. I am self-taught in everything I do! I did not go to college; I have learnt everything by myself. You can too!

Plan your day

I am serious! It is almost a manifesting your life sort of thing. By planning your day, you set an intention to achieve certain things. I use Google Sheets and have a strict schedule for every day of the week. Of course, you also need to be flexible because things come up, and there are meetings, doctor appointments, and other things.

I plan my week, and once you do that, it takes the pressure off because you allocate the time and know what you have to do. It takes the noise from your mind when it is all in writing.

Write in a journal

Writing in a journal helps you plan your day, express your feelings, manifest your dreams. I have written an e-book on this; you can download it here for free. Journal writing is a way to express your dreams, feelings and even fears! Although I discourage anything to do with fear because it is the worst feeling to have, it only leads to misery. Don't fear, be courageous!

Pay yourself 10% of everything you earn

To way to financial freedom is to invest. Pay yourself 10% of your earnings and invest it no matter how tight things are. In Australia, I micro invest in RAIZ, and I also invest in crypto (that's a referral link by the way, so if you invest, we both get 10 bitcoin).

As I mentioned above, learn something new, so I am learning all about Crypto have signed up to bitcoinrich.com (not an affiliate I get nothing for recommending).

If you don't want to invest money, at least open a new banking account put 10% of your earnings into it and never touch it! You deserve to have money! Repeat: You deserve to have money!

  • Drink a litre of water every day

  • Do you know how much of the human body is water? At least 60%. Drinking at least a litre of water a day will keep your skin hydrated; every cell, tissue and organ in your body needs water to work correctly. For example, water:

  • Gets rid of wastes through urination, perspiration and bowel movements

  • Keeps your temperature normal

  • Lubricates and cushions joints

  • Protects sensitive tissues (source)

Positive people take action! So what will you implement to make your life happier and more fulfilling despite the Covid chaos?
