Each recycled glass bead in this design carries a legacy of transformation. For generations, artisans in West Africa—particularly Ghana—have been crafting beads from discarded glass bottles, windows, and jars. These fragments are crushed by hand, placed into hand-carved clay moulds, and fired in earthen kilns. The result? Beautifully raw, earthy beads that shimmer with heritage and sustainability.
Bone beads, often used in jewellery across Africa, Asia, and the Americas, have a rich symbolic lineage. Traditionally hand-carved from discarded bone (typically from cows, never for harm), these beads are thought to represent strength, protection, and reverence for the cycles of life and death.
